Carol Martin

Volunteer Profile: Carol Martin

You can’t miss Carol’s presence at Recovery Cafe DC. Most Tuesday mornings you can find her, along with LaShawn Greene, with a beautiful circle of Members, teaching about Centering Prayer, our very first offering in Recovery Cafe DC’s School for Recovery. After more than 20 as the Director of Dayspring Silent Retreat Center, she served as a year-long volunteer Innkeeper at Samaritan Inn, with women recovering from homelessness and addiction. Before retiring, she worked as the coordinator of the Early Start program at Jubilee Housing’s Youth Services.

As a member of Bread of Life Church, she brings a deeply connecting presence, honesty and spirit of mutuality as she shares and discovers a freshness in Centering Prayer as a path for moving from fear to love. We are so grateful for Carol’s presence!
